Updated October 19, 2026: Saudi Arabia’s tourist electronic visa (eVisa) gives eligible international travellers an online route to visit the Kingdom for tourism, events, leisure, family visits and Umrah outside the Hajj season. Eligibility and entry conditions depend on the applicant’s passport and circumstances, so the official portal should be checked before paying for travel.

Who is eligible for the Saudi eVisa?
Saudi Arabia operates an official nationality-based tourist eVisa programme. The official eligibility and terms page lists the passports currently permitted to apply. Because country lists and entry rules can change, travellers should use that live list rather than relying on older articles or social-media graphics. Other visa routes may be available to travellers who do not qualify for the standard nationality-based eVisa, but eligibility must be checked separately.
How to apply online
- Visit visa.visitsaudi.com and check your nationality and passport eligibility.
- Enter the required personal, passport and travel information accurately.
- Review the visa conditions, insurance information and total payable charges shown by the portal.
- Submit the application and pay using the official payment flow.
- If approved, keep a copy of the electronic visa and verify its validity before travel.
Approval is not automatic. An airline may check the traveller’s documentation before boarding, and entry remains subject to Saudi border requirements.
Can tourists perform Umrah on an eVisa?
The official Saudi eVisa website says tourist visa holders may perform Umrah, excluding Hajj. Restrictions may apply around the Hajj season, including access to Makkah. Pilgrims should confirm any current permit and entry requirements with the competent authorities before travelling.
What about Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi passport holders?
Not every passport qualifies for the standard nationality-based tourist eVisa. Saudi Arabia’s official Visit Saudi website separately advertises an approved travel-package route for passport holders of certain countries, including Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, subject to the package’s conditions. This is not the same as unconditional eligibility for the standard eVisa. Travellers should review the official visa-package information and compare available routes before making bookings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I work in Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa?
No. The tourist eVisa is not a work authorisation. Employment requires the appropriate immigration and labour permissions.
Does the tourist eVisa guarantee entry?
No. Travellers must still satisfy immigration checks and applicable conditions at the border.
Can I visit Riyadh, Jeddah and AlUla?
Tourism is an eligible purpose of the visa, but visitors must observe local access restrictions and other laws.
What if my nationality is not listed?
Check other official Saudi visa routes and consult the nearest Saudi diplomatic mission or authorised visa provider. Do not assume that third-party promises of instant visas are official.
