ABU DHABI, October 19, 2026: Parts of the United Arab Emirates could experience afternoon rainfall on Monday as convective clouds develop over eastern and southern areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The forecast, issued on Sunday and carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), calls for generally fair to partly cloudy conditions across the country, with a chance of localised showers. It does not indicate that rain will fall in every emirate.
Dusty winds could reach 45km/h
The NCM expects light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds of 10–25km/h, strengthening at times to 45km/h near cloud activity. Stronger gusts may lift dust and affect visibility in exposed locations.
Residents travelling through areas affected by rain or blowing dust should monitor official alerts and adapt their driving to prevailing road conditions.
Humidity and possible fog overnight
Conditions are expected to become humid on Monday night and Tuesday morning, particularly in some coastal areas. Fog or mist may form locally, potentially reducing visibility during early journeys.
Temperatures across the UAE
According to the NCM’s published city forecast, Monday’s maximum temperature is expected to reach 38°C in Abu Dhabi, 37°C in Dubai and Sharjah, 34°C in Fujairah and 40°C in Al Ain. The outlook puts Dubai’s minimum at 28°C and Abu Dhabi’s at 27°C.
Seas are forecast to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
What residents should know
Rain chances are concentrated in selected eastern and southern areas rather than across the entire country. People planning road trips or outdoor activities should check the latest local forecast and any weather advisories from the NCM before travelling.
