Electric vehicles are becoming part of everyday life in many countries, as they are no longer seen as an afterthought. In this changing environment, VinFast has appeared as a tech-forward brand with a clear ambition.

VinFast is a member of Vingroup, the largest private conglomerate in Vietnam. Within only 21 months of its launch, it became the number one car seller in the Vietnamese market. This result shows how quickly local customers accepted the brand and its products.

How VinFast Built Its Foundation

The company’s story began in 2017 with the creation of a large automotive manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam. This facility was designed with global standards in mind, and it uses up to 90% automation in production, which helps maintain quality and supports high volumes when demand increases.

In 2018, VinFast presented its Lux models at the Paris Motor Show. The brand received the “A Star is Born” recognition from AUTOBEST, which gave it early international attention. By 2019, VinFast had launched three car models: the Lux A2.0 sedan, Lux SA2.0 SUV, and the Fadil city car.

Moving From Local Success To Global EV Plans

After building a base in Vietnam, VinFast shifted its focus toward smart electric vehicles. The goal was not only to add electric powertrains, but also to rethink the customer experience. Design, safety, digital connectivity, and ease of use became central points. Interiors were planned with attention to comfort and materials. Exteriors followed clean lines and precise shapes to appeal to a wide range of customers. At the same time, VinFast worked on intelligent infotainment systems and over‑the‑air software updates so that vehicles could stay current over their lifetime.

VF 8: VinFast’s Standout Electric SUV

The VinFast VF8 is a midsize electric vehicle designed for daily use. Its length is around 4,750 mm, and its width is about 1,934 mm. The wheelbase is close to 2,950 mm. These dimensions give the VF 8 a stable stance on the road while keeping it easy to park and manoeuvre. The ground clearance is approximately 175 mm, which is suitable for typical speed bumps and uneven surfaces often found on access roads and parking ramps.

Under the body, the VF 8 uses dual electric motors. Together, they can deliver up to 300 kW, which is roughly 402 horsepower. Power arrives in a smooth and direct way, which helps with safe merging and overtaking. The battery has a capacity of about 87.7 kWh. On a full charge, the VF 8 can offer an estimated range of up to 457 km, depending on driving style and conditions.

Charging times are also critical in real life. When connected to a suitable DC fast charger, the battery can typically go from 10% to 70% in roughly 31 minutes, under standard conditions. This is close to the time many people spend on a short break during a longer journey.

Technology, Safety And Daily Convenience

Inside the VF 8, the focus is on a quiet and organised space. The seats are finished in leather with careful stitching. A panoramic sunroof allows natural light to fill the cabin and creates an open feel. When needed, a power sunshade and effective climate control help keep the interior at a comfortable temperature, even during very warm days.

A 15.6-inch central touchscreen manages most functions, including navigation, media, and vehicle settings. The display responds quickly and uses a layout that feels familiar to users of modern tablets. Voice control assists with simple commands, such as adjusting the temperature or setting a destination.

Making EV Ownership Easier For New Buyers

For many people, the step from a petrol car to an electric vehicle raises questions. Charging, battery life, and long‑term support are common concerns. VinFast has tried to address these points around the VF 8.

Home charging is a key part of the plan. Certified technicians can install a wall‑mounted charger and explain how to use it efficiently. The company also offers a battery guarantee – if battery capacity falls below a defined level within the warranty period, VinFast will handle the issue under the agreed terms.

Connected services and remote diagnostics add another layer of support. Over‑the‑air updates can improve software, add features, or refine settings without a visit to a service centre. This helps the car remain up to date as technology advances.

What VinFast Represents For The Future

VinFast’s growth from a new local brand to a global EV player has been rapid. It combines modern manufacturing, design‑focused products, and a strong move toward sustainable mobility. The VF 8 is one visible example of how this strategy appears on the road, especially in demanding environments such as the UAE.

For drivers who are considering an electric vehicle, VinFast offers an option that links clear performance figures, practical range, strong safety features, and a structured ownership experience. As more cities and countries look for cleaner and smarter transport solutions, brands that deliver this combination are likely to play a major role. VinFast aims to be one of those brands, and models like the VF 8 help show how it plans to achieve that.
