DUBAI, October 20, 2026: Dubai has opened the eighth AccessAbilities Expo at Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together organisations and technology providers focused on improving accessibility and independent living for people with disabilities.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, patron of the exhibition, inaugurated the event on October 19, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Technology and rehabilitation in focus
The exhibition highlights assistive devices, accessible mobility products and rehabilitation services. Government entities and private companies are participating, presenting solutions intended to help people with disabilities navigate education, work and everyday life.
During a tour of the event, Sheikh Ahmed was briefed on technologies and programmes designed to support People of Determination, the term commonly used in the UAE for people with disabilities.
When and where is the expo?
The eighth edition is scheduled for October 19–21, 2026, at Dubai World Trade Centre. Visitors interested in attending should check the organiser’s official website for current registration and entry information.
Why it matters
Accessible transport, communication and mobility tools can help remove barriers that limit participation in daily life. The event provides a meeting point for suppliers, service providers and public institutions working on these challenges.
Its wider significance will depend on how successfully showcased solutions become affordable and accessible to the people who need them.
