What is Saudi Premium Residency?
Premium Residency is administered by the Saudi Premium Residency Center. It allows successful applicants and eligible family members to live in Saudi Arabia with certain rights and benefits, subject to the product’s conditions and applicable Saudi laws. Approval is not automatic.
What are the seven Premium Residency options?
- Unlimited Duration Premium Residency: A permanent residency product with a published fee of SAR 800,000.
- One-Year Renewable Premium Residency: A limited-duration option costing SAR 100,000 for each year. The Center describes limited-duration permits of one to five years, subject to applicable conditions.

Special Talent Residency: salary requirements
The official criteria specify a minimum monthly total salary of SAR 35,000 for eligible healthcare and scientific professionals and SAR 14,000 for qualifying researchers. The executive route requires total compensation of at least SAR 960,000 annually, equivalent to SAR 80,000 per month. Relevant employment contracts, qualifications, experience and endorsements are also required. The Center specifies additional detailed conditions, including approved employers and priority specialisations.
Investor and entrepreneur residency requirements
The investor product requires at least SAR 7 million in qualifying investment. The Center’s current investor-product details also specify evidence of employing 10 workers and ongoing compliance conditions.
For entrepreneurs, the first category requires at least SAR 400,000 raised from an approved investment entity and a minimum 20% stake in the startup. The second category requires at least SAR 15 million in approved investment, a minimum 10% stake, and creation of at least 10 jobs in the first year and 10 additional jobs in the second. Category one generally provides five years of residency with a conditional renewal pathway; category two offers conditional permanent residency.
Real Estate Owner Residency requirements
Qualifying property must generally be residential and meet the SAR 4 million threshold. The Center also sets rules about mortgages, off-plan purchases and approved developers. For certain off-plan purchases, applicants must have paid at least SAR 1 million or 10% of the purchase price, whichever is higher. Residency duration is linked to continued qualifying property ownership or usufruct.
What benefits do holders receive?
The Center lists benefits that can include residence with eligible family members, private-sector employment flexibility, travel in and out of the Kingdom without a separate visa, applications for relative visit visas, and certain business and property rights. Specific privileges and exclusions depend on Saudi law and the selected residency product.
Who can apply?
Requirements differ by product, but applicants should be prepared to supply a valid passport, financial documents, a criminal-record check, a medical report and evidence supporting their chosen category. Applicants residing in Saudi Arabia must also satisfy the rules concerning lawful residency. The Center’s detailed criteria generally call for passports valid for at least 180 days and, for Saudi-based applicants, existing residency valid for at least 90 days when applying.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Premium Residency holder include family?
Eligible family members may be included under the Center’s rules, which define qualifying spouses, children and parents subject to specific conditions.
Is Premium Residency always permanent?
