Social Security Payment Dates 2026: Full SSA Calendar, October and November Checks, SSI Schedule

Americans receiving Social Security retirement, survivor or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits can check their 2026 payment dates using the Social Security Administration’s official calendar. For most recipients, payments are scheduled on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of each month, depending on the beneficiary’s birth date. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) follows a separate schedule.

The official source is the SSA’s 2026 payment calendar (PDF). Dates below refer to scheduled payments, not a promise about when a particular bank will display a deposit.

When is the next Social Security payment in October 2026?

As of October 20, the remaining birthday-based payments are Wednesday, October 21 for beneficiaries born on the 11th through the 20th and Wednesday, October 28 for those born on the 21st through the 31st. The October 14 payment for those born on the 1st through 10th has already passed.

These dates follow the SSA’s published Wednesday schedule. In particular, the November second-Wednesday date is November 11; readers should consult the official calendar rather than assume a different date based solely on the federal holiday.

SSI payment dates in 2026

SSI is normally paid on the first of each month. When that date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, SSA schedules payment on the preceding business day.

The November SSI payment arrives on October 30 because November 1 falls on a Sunday. That does not represent an extra November benefit. The January 2027 SSI payment is scheduled for December 31, 2026.

Who receives Social Security on the third of the month?

SSA says people who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 generally follow the third-of-the-month schedule. Those receiving both SSI and Social Security normally receive SSI on the first and Social Security on the third, with adjustments when payment days fall on nonbusiness days. For November 2026, the third falls on Tuesday, November 3.

What if your Social Security payment is late?
