As the school year approaches, parents and children alike gear up for a return to routine. Amidst the hustle and bustle of preparing for classes, finding the right snacks to keep energy levels high and spirits lifted can be challenging.
In this case, Matilde Vicenzi’s puff pastry offers a delightful solution. These treats combine a light, crispy texture with a balanced sweetness, making them perfect for school-time snacks or afternoon breaks. With a variety of options inspired by traditional Italian recipes, these pastries ensure a sweet start to the school year for every child.
Why puff pastry is ideal for school snacks
Familiar even to the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, puff pastry is a very light and crumbly baked dough. The modern version, known as “pâte feuilletée,” was perfected by French chef Marie-Antoine Carême in the 18th century, using butter instead of oil and precise folding techniques.
The Millefoglie di Matilde, with its 192 thin, crunchy layers of fine puff pastry with butter, stands out as an ideal snack for school due to its unique qualities. It provides a light, crispy texture that kids love. This perfect balance of sweetness and energy helps keep children alert and satisfied during lessons.
Matilde Vicenzi’s dedication to traditional techniques and the use of high-quality raw materials ensures that each pastry is a true delight. These snacks, therefore, are not only delicious but also perfect for busy school days because they are very easy to carry around.
